We did it!!! I am so happy to let you know that last night we were privileged at the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s 2013 Man and Woman of the Year Grand Finale to hear the announcement that, not only did we win Man of the Year, but we also met our record-breaking goal of raising over $432,000 in the ten-week campaign. The actual amount collected on behalf of the Be Hopeful Daniel Team, including contributions from last night’s activities, came to $467,000!
This sets a new national record in the history of the Man and Woman of the Year campaigns. More importantly, it provides a great boost to LLS research and critical support to families with a diagnosis of cancer, and proves that great things can happen when people come together to make them happen. This represents a significant step forward in our commitment to find a cure for blood cancers.
During the campaign I have been asking you to become a part of history, and I am glad to acknowledge to you now that we did just that. I want to thank everyone who helped make this great and historic achievement possible. Thank you for your many contributions including your confidence, inspiration, time, efforts, and money. It is a collective accomplishment that we all can take pride in, and better yet, find greater satisfaction in knowing that thousands of individuals and families suffering from blood cancers will benefit from what we have done.
I also want to point out that, if you did not have the opportunity to give before our San Antonio campaign ended, online donations are still being accepted here on my website and will continue to go toward our campaign and our final fundraising amount. Thanks again for your consideration and support.
With heartfelt thanks,
